Early 20th Century Reverse Painted Glass Sign advertising TICKLER'S PURE JAMS. This would have hung in a Grocers Shop..it is a cute small size and the frame has been replaced or is later than the central glass advert.

Ticklers Jam Factory was in Grimsby. It started as a small Grocery Business in 1877. Thomas G Tickler expanded and Ticklers secured a contract between 1914-1918 to supply the Front Lines with their Plum and Apple Jam. Ticklers suggested the empty tins should be used as make do Grenades and this gained Ticklers the name TICKERS ARTILLERY.  Such a part of our British history and the First World War.

Great condition. Can be posted first class signed for , for £9.95
