Huge Late Victorian Metal Country House Food Cover

I have never seen a food cover this large.....Late Victorian it came from a large country house...it was hanging on the door of the larder.

Made from metal mesh, the same mesh that was used in the meat safes of the same period. Two handles to lift & to hang.

The height measurements do not include the handles.

Fantastic in the summer after cooking a large roast - to keep safe when resting the joint - or after carving to stop the flies getting near etc...
