This is a lovely & rare Victorian mahogony & slate food safe.

Food safes were used before we had fridges and slate was wonderful for keeping butter etc...cool and the mesh kept the flies away etc.

Most food safes you find are made of cheaper pine...slate was expensive so this is from a fine kitchen.

It is all slate except the doors so it is VERY heavy...pine shelves inside.

Would have to be collected or sent via courier.
