Large Victorian heavy rectangular Welsh Slate with PURE BUTTER carved into it.
You can see gilt in the lettering & the black coating which is worn in places would sand off if you wanted just clean slate...I love it as it is. It would make a perfect splash back or decoration on a wall.
It would have been the front section of a dairy counter (where Butter was served) I am sure...but it is larger than most front sections.
Holes in the base & sides to wall hang...one hole in the slate has damage around it. All shown on the photographs.
It is really heavy so has to be collected or sent by courier UK £45.
