A rare and wonderful Georgian Toleware Shops Tin for ABERNETHY BISCUITS
Very good condition for its age which is c.1820.
The Abernethy biscuit was invented in the 18th Century by John Abernathy . The biscuit which is still popular in Scotland today was made to aid digestion. It is similar to a digestive.
This would have stood proudly in a shop full of the biscuits for customers to buy.
