Late Victorian Shops Glass Sweet Jar for PASCALLS GOLDEN MALTEX. Lovely condition with the rarer red edged ribbon.
At the end of the 1890s Golden Maltex was one of Pascalls most successful lines. It was a Malt Extract Confectinery. James Pascall was a Quaker (as were Fry and Terry) and he promoted sweets as a pure alternative to alcolhol. In the 1950s the company was taken over by Cadburys.
Provinance - purchased from relatives of a now closed sweet shop in Cornwall.
No damage...lid may be replaced...(it is the correct type of lid but I think it sits a bit low in the jar.)
Post wrapped well Parcel Force 48 for £12.98
