Rare Victorian Butchers Ox Tongue Pickling Barrel with a Pine Lid.

These barrels are hard to find and are usually very chipped/damaged as they are so heavy and werent appreciated in their time and so knocked about....this one is remarkably good in this respect but inside there is crazing as expected and a solid hairline crack at the base which has been there for years unchanged. 

A great item to have as a kitchen dustbin or to put wellies in etc..
