Superb Condition Champagne Cork made & stamped MAWS LONDON with Prince of Wales Feathers as the handles.
In Victorian times Champagne became popular as a health restorative and this lead to the development of the Champagne Tap. The tap was a device which allowed individual glasses to be withdrawn from a bottle without removing the cork. There are three little holes at the bottom of the screw and the top unscrews with a hole...the pressure forced a small amount of liquid up and out of the top.
A lovely item. Post is first class signed for, for £4.45
