A really superb cast bronze armorial crest. Sold to me as bronze and it is SO heavy.

Small piece but wonderfully intricate with just lovely original paint. I know nothing of his history...it is a two horned unicorn on top of a crown with chain & in his mouth is a Scottish thistle. EGMONT into the back.

There is a European legend with regards to unicorns with two horns and apparantely the two horns were gained because "it ate good and righteous husbands. It was fat and plump because of the abundance of good husbands."?
